A juniper trivet is made from slices of juniper wood that are glued onto a sturdy plywood base. The surface is sanded very smooth and left natural, without oil or varnish. It is suitable for placing under hot cups, a teapot, or smaller oven dishes to protect the table from heat marks. The juniper slices have a very pleasant scent.
